Today was hectic. A school day for Emma, Reid had his 15 month check up AND my mom left to go back to TN :( I didn't get home until after 2:00pm so I lost a big chunk of nap time which means I had to hold off on my sewing till after the kids went to bed.
Today I wanted to make something for Reid and had picked up this shirt at Target a few weeks back. It was on clearance for $2.50!!
I am in love with everything from the Mini Boden catalog this season but just can't justify spending the $30 on a shirt for Reid right now (I definitely want to splurge when he gets older though!) The shirt is cute but I wanted to spruce it up a bit, so after some inspiration, came up with this:
I used an old t-shirt that was on its way to Goodwill as the fabric for the applique and embellished it with an orange button.
The striped shirts are a fun alternative to the plain white ones I have been using and I can't wait to do a few more!
