Ikea Frame = Shabby Chic Wall Decor

Last week I posted about Emma's new big girl room. The piece de resistance in her room was the wall decor over her bed. It was so easy to do and inexpensive!
I first saw this project here on Lilly Cakes and it was one of the "must dos" for Emma's room. I purchased the Ung Drill frame from my local Ikea for $30 and a can of white spray paint for laminates from Home Depot. I had tons of extra fabric from Emma's pillowcases, so in total the project cost around $40.
After a few coats of spray paint:
Lastly, I sprayed the cardboard backing that came with the frame with a spray adhesive glue and placed the fabric piece on top of it, smoothing out any bumps or creases. Then just trimmed any excess from the back. Then Aaron used a heavy duty super glue and attached the white wooden letter initial that I bought at my local craft store (very similar to the same method used in the post I did on Reid's wall decor).
I love this project because you can really choose any color and fabric combination you like. It's so versatile! And if I ever change the colors in Emma's room, all I need is a piece of fabric and a new can of spray paint!

Happy Decorating!!
